Research Interests
My primary interests concern the legal aspects of decision making in older and disabled adults, guardianship of adults and other protective arrangements, and the delivery of legal services to older and disabled adults. More recently, I have been researching international aspects of law and aging, especially the ways in which various legal systems around the world deal with incapacity and guardianship. I have begun to address these issues in the elder law course I teach as adjunct faculty at the S. J. Quinney College of Law at the University of Utah. Another current research interest is how aging network systems address, or fail to address, the needs of older and disabled persons in times of natural or man-made disasters.
