Research Interests
Lynda Oderda, PharmD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Pharmacotherapy at the University of Utah College of Pharmacy where she teaches courses related to geriatrics, as well as providing a geriatric clerkship exposing pharmacy students to a continuum of care from ambulatory to assisted living to long term care. Her experience includes long term care and home health care consulting until moving to Utah from Maryland in 1991. Her focus changed to directing the experiential education for pharmacy students at that time, although she maintained ties with geriatric organizations and occasional consulting. Since returning to clinical practice in 2000, she has worked diligently teaching students how to evaluate geriatric patients in ambulatory and long term care settings for drug-related problems so that they can take those skills out to the community practice setting. Areas of interest and research include drug-related problems in the elderly.
