2008 Pilot Grant Program Call for ProposalsWe
are pleased to announce the call for proposals for the Center’s 2008
pilot grant program. The application deadline is May 1, 2008. The
complete request for proposals with detailed application information
may be downloaded from the Center’s home page, http://aging.utah.edu
The
Center on Aging sponsors an annual pilot grant program to promote
the development of aging research at the University of Utah. The
goal of this program is to encourage the development of new
investigators, attract established investigators to aging research
and stimulate interdisciplinary research collaborations ultimately
leading to new externally funded research.
The Steering Committee and I are hoping to receive many high
quality applications representing the full spectrum of the Center’s
disciplinary backgrounds. Please make this funding announcement
available to all faculty within your own departments and encourage
interested faculty to submit an application.

with a life span of 4,000 years - is found only in Utah and
five other western states. Its extraordinary longevity and
ability to adapt and survive in extremely harsh
